To Whomsoever It May Concern:

My name is John Doe, and I am writing to apply for a scholarship to assist me during my time in the University of Denver’s Environmental and Natural Resources L.L.M. program.

Being awarded the opportunity to continue my education in my field at the University of Denver is an incredible opportunity for me, one that I intend to seize wholeheartedly. Throughout my previous studies and work experience, I have consistently demonstrated that when presented with a chance, I will put in the effort possible to present the best possible representation of myself and to do so.

This is demonstrated by my ongoing relationships with the University of and my professional mentors in Watford, England. Despite financial constraints, I have always done everything possible to advance my studies and gain knowledge. This consists of six months of pro bono work assisting the poor in family court proceedings in England and two years of juggling paralegal work and study commitments to afford the very high fees required to study law in England.

Relocating from Watford, England, for the duration of the program represents a significant financial strain but one to which I am fully committed. I will do everything possible to avoid letting this affect my participation and concentration required to get the most out of the program. However, I am relocating with my wife and will face a significantly increased financial burden over the next few months.

As partners, my wife and I are committed to making this a prosperous time for both of us and our children. I will look for work opportunities in Denver areas where she can earn a living for the family. As a result, leaving our home in England and relocating to Denver will undoubtedly be difficult, given the rising cost of flights, housing, and living expenses.

This scholarship allows me to devote all of my attention to achieving the best possible grade in the Environmental and Natural Resources program. Throughout my future career, I will strive to be a representative and ambassador for the University of Denver, and I am extremely grateful to be able to attend this course. I appreciate your time evaluating this application and look forward to my arrival in Denver.
